Default Britney Spears in talks to make Broadway musical

Britney might be coming to Broadway.

As the “Princess of Pop” prepares to close her popular residency show in Las Vegas, her manager, Larry Rudolph, has started to explore bringing her chart-topping songs to Broadway. He met with theatre veteran Jerry Mitchell to discuss turning her music catalog into a full-fledged theatrical production.

As the director of On Your Feet!, Mitchell helped Gloria and Emilio Estefan translate their uplifting life story to the stage. “We’re telling a true story about real people, so the authenticity is really important to me,” he stressed in an interview before the show arrived on Broadway.

However, Mitchell does not plan to use the same recipe when making a jukebox musical with Spears. “It would NOT be autobiographical,” he confirmed. Instead, all of her famous songs would be used to tie together a fictional narrative, like Mamma Mia!.

Rudolph and Mitchell are still mulling over the idea, and no timeline has been announced.

I'm not sure what this would be but at least it's something new!

This is really the kind of project that we do for stars at the end of their career seeing even deceased !!! Even if Britney has a panoply of hits to her credit, doing this musical would have it passed for a has been.

No chance it will be remotely similar to Viva Forever. The Spice Girls only have one real meaningful hit: Wannabe.

    Lucky

I'm Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman
    Perfume

    (You Drive Me) Crazy
    Oops...I Did It Again

    If U Seek Amy
    Till The World Ends

Those hit songs in addition to other singles and deep cuts with a great script=Tony Award Nominations. ( I don't believe any of her peers have a catalog that would work on Broadway)

Whenever Britney's team decides to do this it will be certainly great for her legacy, as it would utterly validate her music either with fans or her detractors. Idiots won't be able to say "I'm not a fan of her music/ I hate her music" anymore.
